Responsibilities

  • Safely ascend trees using rigging techniques and climbing gear to perform pruning, trimming, and removal tasks.
  • Operate bucket trucks and bucket lifts to access high branches or perform ground-based maintenance efficiently.
  • Assist with rigging operations to secure limbs or equipment during tree work projects.
  • Conduct landscape maintenance tasks such as lawn care, planting, mulching, and general landscape upkeep.
  • Support tree care initiatives by applying horticultural best practices to promote healthy growth and tree vitality.
  • Use GIS (Geographic Information Systems) tools to assist with mapping and site planning for landscape projects.
  • Maintain safety standards by inspecting equipment, adhering to safety protocols, and communicating hazards promptly.


Skills

  • Proven experience in tree climbing, tree trimming, or arboriculture with growing knowledge of horticulture principles.
  • Proficiency in rigging techniques for safe limb removal and equipment handling.
  • Ability to operate bucket trucks, bucket lifts, and other aerial devices safely and effectively.
  • Familiarity with GIS software for site analysis and project planning is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of landscape maintenance practices, including lawn care and general landscaping tasks.
  • Excellent physical fitness with the ability to work at heights and perform physically demanding tasks outdoors.

Job Position: CDL A Truck Driver

Location: 312 New Scotland So Rd, Slingerlands, NY 12159

Schedule: Full Time – Day Shift / Night Shift, Part Time Available

Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Truck Driver to join our Tree Service Company. The ideal candidate will be responsible for transporting wood chips, logs, and salt safely and efficiently across various routes. This role requires a strong commitment to safety, adherence to traffic regulations, and the ability to handle freight with care.


Duties

  • Operate various types of trucks, including tractor-trailers, log trucks/trailers, low boys, and chip trucks.
  • Loading and unloading using appropriate equipment, such as loaders.
  • Ensure the safe transport of goods while adhering to all traffic laws and regulations.
  • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles to ensure they are in good working condition.
  • Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, routes, and cargo.
  • Communicate effectively with dispatchers regarding any issues or delays on the road.
  • Utilize manual transmission skills when required for specific vehicle types.


Experience

  • Proven experience in commercial driving with a valid CDL (Commercial Driver's License).
  • Ability to drive manual transmission vehicles is preferred.
  • Previous experience in freight transportation or logistics is a plus.
